Poster and catalogue on Guðrúns' one person show at Kjarvalasstaðir, Reykjavík Art Museum, helt in appreciation of being granted the Artists' salaries for one year. That  year only two visual artists were granted Artists' salaries for one year, the longest term at that time. The image shows one side of the pamplet/poster. On the back, the poster side is the painting Heroin in a black & white version.

Heroin
Guðrún Arndís Tryggvadóttir 1986

"At first glance, it's as if the heroin is riding at full speed. She is on a small square island (Iceland) and pretends to be a hero, but is actually trying to hold the pose of the prone horse that sputters to try to get back on all fours. The hero has fallen, as she would not have made it far anyway due to the small size of the island. Everything outside the narrow beach in the picture is the ocean."
