MODELDRAWING – and painting
This course emphasizes that model drawing is understood as the foundation for all artistic creation, which it is. We will draw from a live model in all kinds of poses, in all kinds of materials, in all kinds of ways. The main emphasis will be on joy, flow, unpretentiousness and personal expression with the goal of perceiving the human body, which of course reflects all three-dimensional forms in this world.
Saturdays 5, 12, 19 and 26 September from 12:00 - 16:00.
A total of 21 lessons. Participation fee: 68,000 isk.
IDEA - becomes visual
A course for people of all ages, anyone who is involved in art and has some experience but may have found that the development of an idea into a finished picture needs further exploration. If you are interested in learning more about how to capture ideas and develop further in visual language, you are welcome to this course.
Thursdays 1st, 8th, 15th and 29th October from 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM.
A total of 16 lessons. Participation fee: 54,000 ISK.
PAINTING – letting the material speak
The course will cover the various techniques and mixtures in oil painting as well as preparation methods, underpainting with acrylics, layered painting, pasto painting, spray painting and other methods and styles.
The course is designed for people who have already done something with oil paints and acrylics but want to increase their skills and better connect the use of materials to the idea they are working on at each time.
Saturdays 17, 24, 31 October and 7 November from 12:00 - 16:00.
A total of 21 lessons. Participation fee: 68,000 isk.
WATERCOLOR PAINTING – water - mind - color
The magic of painting with watercolors. We will delve into color and morphology, in a material, symbolic and personal way. Work based on projects and your own ideas.

Instructor: Guðrún Arndís Tryggvadóttir
Guðrún Arndís Tryggvadóttir studied at the Icelandic School of Arts and Crafts, the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich. She founded the art school RÝMI, design studio Kunst & Werbung in Germany and the environmental website Nature.is and has run LISTRÝMI for the past fifteen years, first within the walls of the LÁ Art Museum and then in her own studios.
Guðrún loves to teach alongside her art work, but the courses take place in Guðrún's spacious studio at Mánamörk 3-5 in Hveragerði.
