A QR code on the west pillar of the bridge over the Jökulsá River at Jökulsárlón/ Glacier Lagoon directs visitors who walk the path under the bridge on the east side to a photo where the pillar is sprayed with the words "Melting glacier is not beautiful“.
In contrast to the experience of visitors to Jökulsárlón who see “beauty” as a result of melting glaciers, attention is directed to the opposite, the fact that melting glaciers are a result of human encroachment on nature and at the same time a threat to the future of humanity. The legitimacy of tourism that is based on polluting more, getting more traffic is questioned in order to examine the consequences of more traffic, more pollution.
