This winter, LISTRÝMI / ARTSPACE offers four longer courses and four micro courses in the field of art. All the courses aim to provide solid and practical education that can be used as a basis for all practices in visual art, whether they are of a material or conceptual nature.

Model drawing and painting
The first day we will be drawing after a live model, with pencil, charcoal and chalk. On the second day we will paint after the model with water-soluble colors, e.g. watercolors and acrylics, on paper or canvas. The aim is to release inhibitions and work freely and personally with the subject.
Time: The weekend of January 18 and 19, from 10 am to 5 pm both days.
Place: Hall of the Red Cross in Hveragerði.
Participation fee ISK. 38,000.
Masterclass – Acrylic and oil
Emphasis is placed on looking at the chemical site of the medium, focusing on the pros and cons and evaluating how the material helps to communicate the idea with various goals in mind. Practice in color mixing and layered work with acrylic and oil. The potential of both media explored and activated. A course for people who have some practice but want to become more confident in their working methods and increase their skills in connecting the use of materials better to the idea that is being worked on each time. Work is done in three sessions and continues at home in between.
Time: 1, 8 and 15 February 2025
Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm.
Communication through Facebook group between working days.

Portrait drawing – online course
The arrangement will be in the form of step by step projects and personal guidance through the course's Facebook group and will last for four weeks. In between working on the projects, the participants work on their drawings and show their result to the Facebook group with photos and videos so that everyone can follow the development of each other´s work.
Period: February 2025.
Participation fee ISK. 25,000.
Micro courses
Short educational courses on the various fields of visual art. Everyone is welcome to join.
January 25 – Symbols and their use – now and throughout history.
February 22 – Shapes and proportions – narrative power in life and art.
March 8 – Idea development – simple ways to developing ideas.
5. April - Life and colors - what do colors say and how can we use them in the most effective way.
Time: Saturdays 1 to 3 pm
Participation fee: 5,000 per course
From mind to substance – Onsite and online course
In this course, we focus on bridging the gap from mind and hand, using various tools and methods of visual art, both conceptual and material. Ideas are dissected and concepts such as image structure, triads, contrast, value and tension will be considered and consciously used to reinforce and communicate an ideas.
Time: March 1, 15 and 22.
Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm.
Communication through a Facebook group between working days on site.
Participation fee ISK. 35,000.
10% discount is granted if more than one course is attended.
